Good evening parents!
On a scale 1-10 how nervous is your child about starting school tomorrow? Or what about yourselves? Don’t be nervous! They are in GREAT hands! The night before school is always a magical one for the children, the unknowing of what is about to come is exciting and scary at the same time. It is the same way for the teachers, we are so eager to start so we can meet your little ones and excited about how we will get to change their lives!
This time of the year I think to what my own parents did the night before, and the morning of the start of school. My mother made a tradition to give my siblings and I an book that she signed with the year the night before school starts. It is really special going through my books and seeing the different books through the years. My dad always made us bacon in the mornings and took our picture in front of the front door.
These little traditions made up my entire life from kindergarten to high school to even college. I would always look forward to these little things that my parents did. I strongly encourage you to start these traditions with your children. They will love it. You do not necessarily need to start these tonight or tomorrow morning, you could start these any day this week or this coming weekend. You also do not need to buy anything, simply writing a sweet note to your child and holding on to it until they graduate would be a sweet gesture.
Good night parents! Try to sleep!
p.s. Comment below the different ideas or traditions you have to make your back to school special.
Sincerely,
Jessica Fitzpatrick
